Looking back at the New Energy Forum
Thursday the 22nd of June 2023 marked the third edition of the New Energy Forum, the event for the (upcoming) energy and mobility professional. As many as 1375 visitors attended the event to learn about pioneering initiatives in the energy and mobility transition.
Breaking Barriers
A packed programme had been put together around the theme ‘Breaking Barriers’, with inspiring speakers, topical discussions, demonstrations, games and presentations. Keynotes included Kees Vendrik (chair of the National Climate Platform), Jessica den Outer (UN expert in nature rights), Dr Reint Jan Renes (behavioural scientist and Lecturer in Psychology for a Sustainable City at the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam) and Florian Dirkse (co-founder The Ocean Cleanup). Other interesting parts were the presentation by Mildred Hofkes (founder of NieuwBestuur and owner of the research agency BHRM Stakeholder management & Research) on managerial change, the presentation of the EnTranCe Awards and the certificate ceremony of our New Energy Academy where some 50 students received their energy certificates.
Seeing and experiencing
Besides the sections where visitors could listen or join in discussions, there was plenty to see and experience at the ongoing demonstrations, such as the world’s first hydrogen-powered GPU from Groningen Airport Eelde that was recently launched, the world’s first electric asphalt spreader from BAM Infra NL and the latest solar car from the Top Dutch Solar Race Team. There were innovative demonstrations by regional secondary vocational schools, visitors could play ‘serious games’ or take a look at the hydrogen plaza for the latest innovations.
Organisation
New Energy Forum is organised annually and is a joint initiative of EnTranCe, Hive.Mobility and New Energy Coalition. The date for the next edition has already been set: June 20, 2024.
